Why did my email go to Gmail Promotion Tabs?
Gmail sends messages to the tab inbox based on complex algorithms that consider customer involvement, content and sender information. Email Marketing itself has a high chance of entering the Promotions tab in the recipient’s mailbox.
MTARGET also has no control over email placement in Gmail, and there is no proven way to overcome this. Only recipients of your email can move your email from the Promotions tab to the Main tab.
In this article, you will learn about the Gmail tab, and what customers can do to ensure that the email sent will go to their Main tab.
Good Side of Promotional tabs
The Gmail Promotions tab generally contains email offers, promotions and more. When Gmail introduces the inbox tab, many marketers worry that customers will ignore emails on the Promotions tab.
But, there are still many people using the Promotions tab. Don’t worry, Promotional tabs improve delivery capabilities, increase open rates, and reduce the potential for spam. The main inbox tab is optional for Gmail users.
Send email to the main tab
The only way to increase your email chances of getting to the Main tab is to keep your audience. The customer to whom you sent the email might be willing to move your email to the Main tab.
If you really want to make sure the email you send is in the main mailbox tab, by asking your customers to take this action:
1. Add to Google Contacts Emails from customers’ Google Contacts always go to their Primary inbox. Ask your customers to add your From email address to their Google Contacts by dragging your email from the Promotions tab to the Main tab.
**2. Settings for messages to automatically enter the Main tab ** When a customer moves one of your emails from the Promotions tab to the Main tab, Gmail asks whether the next email will be added to the main tab or not. In this way you will do the configuration so that the email that comes to you, which usually goes to the Promotions tab, will go to the Main tab automatically. Follow the steps from Gmail here.
