Subaccount in Mailtarget email API tools is a child account that is linked to a primary account. Subaccounts share the same plan and usage allocations as the primary account, but they have their own assets (sending domains, unique users, API key, SMTP credentials, settings, statistics, and site login).

In the Mailtarget sandbox environment, the subaccount feature is not supported. Subaccount functionality is not available by default in the sandbox environment. The purpose of the sandbox environment is to provide a controlled and limited testing environment, which may exclude certain features to prevent misuse or unintended usage.

However, in the production environment of Mailtarget, subaccounts are fully supported and readily available. Subaccounts serve as a valuable tool for organizing and managing email flows effectively. They allow users to create additional linked accounts, enabling seamless segmentation and control of email communication.

It is important to note that the absence of subaccount functionality in the sandbox environment is a deliberate restriction to ensure proper testing and development procedures. If you require the use of subaccounts, it is recommended to utilize the production environment of Mailtarget, where all features, including subaccounts, are accessible.

How to Add Subaccount to Mailtarget account

In order to add your Mailtarget subaccount, you must open the Configuration > Subaccount menu then click Create Subaccount button.

In Create Subaccount menu, user should fill Subaccount Name field and click Create Subaccount button to finish. If users need to create an API Key when creating subaccount, they only need to tick Create API Key check, if they don’t need, user can create one later in API Key menu.

After the subaccount is created, the user can check the details of the subaccount by clicking on the subaccount name, the user can see the subaccount status, details of the API key and sending domain assigned to the subaccount.
