How to Save Lead Contacts from Zendesk Sell to MTARGET Contact Book

In this article, you will learn how to save contact data from Zendesk Sell to the MTARGET Contact Book. This way, every new contact you save in your Zendesk Sell account will automatically be input into the MTARGET Contact Book. This integration requires Zapier as a third party, so make sure you have a Zapier account.

Before starting the integration, make sure you have contact data in your Zendesk Sell account, as this contact data will be used as a test contact to ensure the integration runs smoothly.

To add a contact, follow these steps:

Click 'Contacts' > Click the 'Add' button > Select 'Lead'.

If you already have it, follow the next steps:

Setting Up the Integration

  1. Open your Zapier account, then click 'My Apps' and search for mtarget.co in the search bar.

  2. Next, you will be asked to fill in the API Token. Open your MTARGET account, then go to the Integration menu and select Zapier. The API Token will appear there. Copy it, then paste it into the field on the Zapier page. Then click the 'Yes, Continue' button.

  3. To ensure that the integration has been successful, you can click the 'Test' button. If the 'Success' notification appears, the integration of your MTARGET account to Zapier has been successful.

  4. Go to the 'My Apps' page on Zapier. Search for 'Zendesk Sell' in the search bar. You will be asked to log into your Zendesk account.

If the steps above successfully added Zendesk to your Zapier account, proceed with the next steps.


Set Up the Trigger

Now it's time to integrate Zendesk Sell with your MTARGET account. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Zap menu, then click the 'Create Zap' button.

  2. Set the title of your Zap.

  3. Then, in the search bar, select 'Zendesk Sell'. In 'Choose Trigger Event', select 'New Subscriber'.

  4. Select your Zendesk Sell account.

  5. In the 'Find Data' step, Zapier will try to read one of the contact data that already exists in your Zendesk Sell account. Make sure you have contacts in your Zendesk Sell account, then click 'Continue'.


Define the Action

  1. Next, type MTARGET in the search bar. Then click.

  2. In 'Choose Action Event', select 'Save Contact'.

  3. After that, you will perform 'Customize Contact'. Here you will specify the fields that match the required fields such as Email, Firstname, and Label as shown in the image below:

Note: Fill in the Label field with the name of the Label you want to register in the Contact Book.

  1. Then a sample data that will be sent to the contact in the MTARGET Contact Book account will appear. Click 'Test & Continue'.

  2. After finishing, you can check the entire flow of the integration you have created. Make sure it is correct. If it is correct, click 'Done Editing'. Then 'Turn on Zap' to activate the integration.

Once the integration runs, all subscriber data entered from your Zendesk Sell account will automatically be added to the MTARGET Contact Book.
