Here you will learn how to create messages through template messages in WhatsApp campaigns. Here are the steps you need to follow:
It is important to know that all messages that will be sent via WhatsApp need to create a Template Message first. Without creating a Template Message, you cannot send WhatsApp messages to your contacts.
Click the "Template Message" button then "Create Message".
Here you will fill in the required data to create a template message.
Template Name: Enter the desired template name. The template title can only use lowercase letters and underscores.
Account: Select the sender you want to use.
Category: Categorize according to the needs of your message.
Language: Choose the language that matches the content of the message.
Message: Write the message you want to send.
Then click "Create Template".
Here the message has been successfully created, but it needs validation from WhatsApp. Make sure before creating a Template Message,
About Files in Template Message
Here you can attach several types of files such as:
Audio: With formats .aac, .mp4, .amr, .mpeg, .ogg.
Documents: Any format as long as it complies with MIME-Type like .pdf, .pptx, .docx, etc.
Images: With formats .jpeg and .png
Stickers: With format .webp
Videos: With formats .mp4 and .3gp (Only H.264 video, AAC audio, and videos with single audio stream)
About Template Message Status
There are 4 statuses in Template Messages, namely:
DRAFT: Template messages that have not been sent to WhatsApp for validation.
PENDING: Template messages are awaiting validation from WhatsApp.
APPROVED: Template messages have been approved by WhatsApp and can be sent to recipients.
REJECTED: Template messages that are not approved or rejected by WhatsApp.
The validation process takes 1-3 days. When the message has been successfully validated (APPROVED), we will send a notification email to your email stating that your message has been validated by WhatsApp. The template status will be updated every 07:00, 13:00, 19:00, 01:00 every day.
If your template message is rejected (REJECTED), here are the steps you need to take:
Format writing
Try to review your content again, such as writing. Make sure there are no typos, or maybe grammar mistakes that could cause misunderstandings.
Make sure the content you write matches the language you selected during the Configuration stage with the language you wrote as content.
If possible, do not use a URL Shortener.
If you want to share a link, make sure the link you share uses a domain you own.
Template Message violates WhatsApp policies
If you intend to offer services or products, make sure you do not violate WhatsApp policies that apply, such as:
Do not ask for sensitive user data, such as credit card numbers, etc.
You are allowed to conduct surveys aimed at gathering experiences related to your products or services. But it is not allowed if you conduct surveys to collect user data.
Games, contests, tests, and quizzes - anything involving skill, competition, and/or chance - are not allowed.
Template Message contains promotional messages
The template message you create offers coupon codes or prizes and the like. Even messages such as cold messages are not allowed. Certain words or phrases that make the template message promotional (even if the template message content may be fine).
Template Message contains threatening messages
Template messages that threaten customers with legal action will be rejected.
Template messages that threaten to add customers to WhatsApp groups with their friends and family will be rejected.
Once you understand the factors that can cause template messages to be rejected, here are some tips for creating template messages:
Create a clear template message title. Remember that someone outside your business will review your template message. Providing more clarity gives reviewers context on how the template message will be used.
If you feel the message created complies with WhatsApp policies but is rejected by WhatsApp, make sure you have a sample as proof for appeal. All appeals for rejected template messages require samples. You can appeal rejected template messages to WhatsApp Business Support.
If you want to write a template message related to a previous message, make sure also to refer back to the previous conversation as proof.
